Jam Session – Big Family Project – Amy n’ the Kids – Shoot V

Blogging this from the road as you can see from my twitter updates above. Just got into Estes Park a few hours ago and now getting ready for a day of photo and climbing tomorrow.

It’s not often that I get to kick it with my cousins, do a photo shoot and jam in the West Bottoms. This was such a fun session to shoot! The coolest part of this shoot was the collaboration,  Amy hit me up with the idea of having everyone playing their instrument which I absolutely adored and everyone was up for rocking out so the west bottoms seemed like the perfect place to complete the feel of this shoot. I loved the spontaneity here everything seemed to come together at the last minute from the black cases to the music strewn on the floor to the sunglasses.  I am so glad this shoot came together in spite of crazy schedules, basements filled with 2 feet of water and having to haul an entire drum set around town.

Alison & Craig

Sometimes I do sessions where as I am driving away I think to myself,  ”Wow,  I want to be just like them” .  What I mean by ‘just like them’ is some people seem to have this persona about them when they are so obviously in love,  as if they have made a separate world in which they make the rules and nobodies opinion can bring them down. There’s a freedom of expression in that attitude that I always try to enable and encourage in anyway possible because the result is just so much fun!

Ana

This was a crazy fun shoot that combined some great weather and a gorgeous model.  This was Ana’s first experience with modeling and I was really impressed with how well she did! Started the shoot off right in our backyard and ended up in a forest surrounded with mosquitoes,  I have just been waiting for the right model to execute the shoot in the woods, so glad Ana was up for it!

Deep Water Soloing + “BIG” Family Shoot V – Patrick

Deep Water Soloing: A form of solo rock climbing that relies solely upon the presence of water at the base of a climb to protect against injury.

Translation:  A no holds barred awesome approach to free climbing!

Although climbing is almost always  the highlight of the Ozarks, I think the best part of this trip was making some new climbing friends, who you will see below.

A 9 images composite of the last jump of the night.
This climb on the right here has defeated me for the last 3 years but after 4days of working it here is the send!
Yeah this would be one gnarly wake-board wipe out

Latensers – The “BIG” Family Project – Shoot IV

I honestly don’t think I have ever had barrels races, zip lining, one handed push ups and swing sets all combined into one shoot! I had no idea what to expect when I showed up for this session and really never envisioned the craziness that ensued. But I have to admit I am in love with the result!

This makes for part IV of the project and it was definitely the most spontaneous one yet.
